Study programme
You can create your own Master’s programme of 120 European Credits (EC) to suit your interest. In principle, the components of the programme may be followed in any given order, but you have to follow 3 mandatory courses at the start of the first year. Further courses can be chosen from a list of courses offered in Utrecht and in Eindhoven. In addition there is a Team Challenge, with students from Eindhoven University of Technology.
Educational methods
Educational methods differ per course and can include:
- Lectures
- Practical sessions
- Individual and/or group assignments
- Presentations
Many courses take a blended learning approach.
Examination methods
Courses will be assessed with written exams and/or an assignment. Research projects are concluded by a presentation and written report.

Are you looking for an extra challenge?Utrecht University offers several honours programmes for students looking for an extra challenge. Honours education is followed on top of your regular Master’s programme and goes beyond the regular curriculum. Honours programmes are available at both faculty and interdisciplinary level and allow you to go deeper into subjects or work on projects that transcend your own discipline.
