LERU Doctoral Summer School 2022

The LERU doctoral summer school 2022 was hosted by Utrecht University and curated by the Urban Futures Studio. Its theme is The University of the Future. In a 21st century marked by crises and uncertainty, the university's role is in dire need of evaluation. Intersecting fears about ecological degradation, climate change, economics, (geo)politics, and technological change calls for more inter-and transdisciplinary forms of research and education. They call for rethinking what the university is and what it can or should be. What is research? What should research be? How is the university an institution of power?

The LERU Summer School 2022 took place in Utrecht from 3 to 8 July. Application is closed.

The League of European Research Universities (LERU) organises an annual summer school for 60 selected PhD students from member-universities. This event aims to provide doctoral candidates with unique professional and personal development opportunities.
