Dynamics of Youth meet-up

The Dynamics of Youth communities are organising DoY meet-ups in the coming months. These meetings offer researchers a chance to share perspectives from different disciplines and strengthen their networks.

In this DoY meet-up, hosted by Youth Education & Life Skills, we explore the interaction between education, arts and science. There are many ways in which art collides with education and science, in current work taking place at the University of Utrecht and beyond. We are eager to learn about what researchers are doing in their different areas of work and to what purpose. Our goal is to explore the interaction between education, art and science and better understand how these can work together in achieving transformation - especially in the lives of youth.

Roundtable on education, art and science

We start this meet-up at 15:30 with a roundtable with various Utrecht researchers who have managed to connect art to their research in various ways. Jaqui Goldin will kick-start the roundtable by presenting the project ‘Diamonds on the soles of our feet’ (with Janwillem Liebrand) as an example. Thereafter, the table is open for exploring each other’s projects and purpose. We wrap up by exploring the needs and wishes to continue the conversation. All researchers and professionals with an interest in the connection between education, art and science are welcome to join the roundtable.

DoY networking drinks

From 16:30, we will continue with an informal networking drink for all Dynamics of Youth community (to be) members. So, even if you are not interested in the art/science connection, but just want to catch up with other passionate colleagues or learn from them, you are very welcome to join from this moment onwards. We start the drinks with an easy-going icebreaker to facilitate new connections. Feel free to join the drinks afterwards if you are only able to arrive a bit later. 

The DoY meet-up takes place every first Tuesday of the month. The meetings start with a content section where ongoing research is discussed and new ideas can be shared, followed by informal networking. Each month, one of the communities acts as host. The meet-ups are meant for anyone who feels connected to DoY, its subject or activity.
